CLEARWATER — A wife and husband are suing a St. Pete Beach hotel owner, alleging negligence led to injuries to the wife.

Kelly and Michael Cote filed a complaint Sept. 7 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against CRP 6300 Gulf LLC, doing business as Postcard Inn on the Beach, alleging the hotel owner failed to provide a safe environment for its business invitees.

According to the complaint, on June 10, 2017, while Kelly Cote was a guest of Postcard Inn, 6300 Gulf Blvd., St. Pete Beach, she fell on an uneven, broken and elevated door threshold. The suit says Cote sustained bodily injury, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, and loss of earnings.

Likewise, Michael Cote, says he has has suffered the loss of consortium, companionship and the society of his wife.

The plaintiffs allege Postcard Inn on the Beach failed to use reasonable care and due diligence in inspecting the premises, failed to properly design and construct the property, failed to keep the property safe and free from defects that could cause harm to guests and failed to warn invitees of the dangerous condition on its property.

The Cotes seek trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus costs of suit and all further relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorney Grace Reeves of Legler, Flynn, Murphy & Battaglia in Bradenton.
