ORLANDO — An Orlando man is suing Hilton, alleging negligence caused him to fall on a wet floor, leading to injuries.

Gary Wheeler filed a complaint Sept. 6 in Orange County Circuit Court against AR HHC Orlando Convention LLC, doing business as Hilton, alleging the hotel owner failed to exercise reasonable care for the safety of its invitees.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 9, 2016, Wheeler was a guest at the defendant's Hilton hotel in Orlando when he slipped and fell on a wet, slippery substance left on the floor. The suit says Wheeler sustained injuries to the body, pain and suffering, disfigurement, mental anguish and the loss of earnings.

The plaintiff alleges Hilton failed to adequately maintain the floors, allowing the dangerous condition to exist on the premises and failed to give adequately warning of the dangerous condition.

Wheeler seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, court costs, attorney fees and all proper relief. He is represented by attorney Tiffany M. Faddis of Dan Newlin & Partners in Orlando.
