CLEARWATER — An Orange County customer is suing Wal-Mart, alleging negligence led to injuries.

Osneydi Lopez Rodriguez filed a complaint Sept. 5 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Wal-Mart Stores East LP, alleging failure to keep the premises safe for the public.

According to the complaint, on July 10, 2017, Rodriguez was a customer at the Wal-Mart at 10237 Bay Pines Blvd. N., St. Petersburg when she slipped and fell on some fruit. The suit says she sustained injuries.

As a result, Rodriguez says, she sustained disability, loss of the capacity for the enjoyment of life and the expense of hospitalization.

The plaintiff alleges Wal-Mart Stores East failed to inspect, correct or adequately maintain the floor, thus creating a hazardous condition to members of the public.

Rodriguez seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000.00, plus interest and court costs. She is represented by attorney Mario Romero of Morgan & Morgan PA in Kissimmee.
