ORLANDO — A couple brought a lawsuit over an insurance company's denial of a property damage claim.

Gabriel Franelus and Guerta Franelus filed a complaint on Sept. 4 in Orange County Circuit County against American Security Insurance Company, alleging a breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the Franelus' home sustained water damage as the result of a pipe leak in the bathroom that resulted in mold.

The plaintiffs provided timely notice of the loss and made a claim to the insurance company, which has not yet paid the claim.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in excess of $15,000 for breach of the policy, plus court costs, prejudgment interest and reasonable attorney’s fees. They are represented by David Low of David Low & Associates, PA in Fort Lauderdale.
