CLEARWATER — Sears faces a lawsuit over an alleged slip and fall.
Nicole R. Lopez filed a complaint on Aug. 30 in the 6th Judicial Circuit Court for Pinellas County against Sears, Roebuck and Co. alleging that the company failed to use due care to maintain its premises in a safe condition.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff slipped on a liquid substance and fell. The plaintiff claims she suffered significant and severe bodily injury, pain and suffering, disability, physical impairment, disfigurement, mental anguish, inconvenience, loss of enjoyment of life and medical expenses.
The plaintiff claims the company failed to place barricades, signs or marking devices to alert invitees.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for damages. She is represented by Laurette A. Balinsky of Rubenstein law PA in Orlando.
