TALLAHASSEE (Florida Record) – Lakeland attorney Gregg S. Kamp is on probation following an Aug. 16 Florida Supreme Court order over allegations arising from two client matters, according to a recent announcement by The Florida Bar.

"In two separate cases, Kamp failed to diligently pursue clients' legal matters or maintain adequate communications with them," the state bar said in its Aug. 31 announcement of the discipline and the Supreme Court's order. "As part of his probation, Kamp will participate in the diversion/discipline consultation service, a practice and professional enhancement program."

In its single-page order, the high court approved the uncontested referee's report filed in the matter, placed Kamp on probation and ordered him to pay approximately $1,475 in costs.

Florida court orders are not final until time to file a rehearing motion expires. Filing such a motion does not alter the effective date of Kamp's probation.

Kamp was admitted to the bar in Florida on April 19, 1995, according to his profile at the state bar website. No prior discipline before the state bar is listed on Kamp's state bar profile.

One of the client matters regarding allegations against Kamp arose from a 2014 child support modification case, according to the consent judgment filed with the court. The consent judgment also includes Kamp's conditional guilty plea. Kamp's client alleged the attorney did not respond to a telephone call, did not schedule mediation and missed a June, 2015 case management conference. Kamp refunded his client's entire fee for the child support modification, according to the consent judgment.

The other client matter involved a 2017 family law matter, according to the consent judgment. Kamp allegedly did not confirm a January hearing time or inform his client of the hearing. The client later fired Kamp and request return of the unearned portion of her legal fee, after which Kamp allegedly failed to respond to all of his former client's phone calls and emails. Kamp has entered into fee arbitration with this client, according to the consent judgment.
