ORLANDO — A Flagler County woman is suing Marriott, alleging negligence led to her suffering injuries from a fall.
Georgann Mastriacovo filed a complaint Aug. 23 in Orange County Circuit Court against Marriott Ownership Resorts Inc., doing business as Marriott Vacation Club, doing business as Marriott Cypress Harbour Villas, alleging the hotel property failed to provide a safe environment for its business invitees.
According to the complaint, on Sept. 11, 2014, Mastriacovo was a guest at the Marriott Cypress Harbour Villas in Orlando when she suddenly tripped over a cracked/uneven section of the sidewalk/walkway, causing her to fall. The suit says Mastriacovo sustained bodily injuries resulting in pain and suffering, aggravation of a pre-existing condition, disability, disfigurement, scarring, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life and incurred medical expenses. .
The plaintiff alleges Marriott Cypress Harbour Villas failed to repair the cracked and/or uneven section of its sidewalk/walkway, and failed to post any signs or markers warning invitees of the dangerous condition.
Mastriacovo seeks trial by jury and damages in excess of $15,000. She is represented by attorney William M. Chanfrau Jr of Chanfrau & Chanfrau in Daytona Beach.
