CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County woman is suing a Clearwater homeowner, alleging his negligence caused her to fall and sustain injuries.

Alice Arch filed a complaint Aug. 22 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Donald Candelori, alleging failure to use due care to maintain his premises in a safe condition.

According to the complaint, on May 30, Arch was visiting Candelori's residence at 2593 Redwood Circle, Clearwater. The suit says Arch slipped and fell as a result of water leaking from a defective washing machine.

Arch says the fall caused her to sustain bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, costs of hospitalization and other medical expenses, loss of earnings and aggravation of a pre-existing condition.

The plaintiff alleges Candelori failed to warn her about the water on the floor, failed to remedy the washing machine to stop leakage and allowed the dangerous condition on the premises to exist.

Arch seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, costs of suit and all further legal and proper relief. She is represented by attorney Mark P. Smith of Smith & Valentine PA in Cape Coral.
