CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County cleaning woman is suing a Tierre Verde homeowner, alleging breach of duty and negligence.

Carolyn Shoop filed a complaint Aug. 22 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Jonathan Ruprai, alleging the homeowner failed to maintain his residence in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, on June 26, 2016, Shoop was at Rupari's home,725 Monte Christo Blvd., Tierre Verde, to clean the premises when she slipped and fell on a tile surface and animal urine.

The suit says Shoop injured her right and left hip, ultimately requiring replacement surgery with bi-Iateral arthroplasty. The plaintiff alleges Ruprai failed to inspect his premises to discover the dog urine on the slippery floor and failed to give notice or warning of the existing danger.

Shoop seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, costs, attorney fees and all other appropriate relief. She is represented by attorney Michael G. Heilmann of Taylor, Michigan.
