ORLANDO — Two Orlando property owners are suing a liability insurer, alleging breach of an insurance contract.

Thomas and Raven Beach filed a complaint Aug. 20 in Orange County Circuit Court against Florida Specialty Insurance Company, alleging failure to perform under the terms of the policy for hurricane coverage.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 10, 2017, the Beaches' property at 22151 10th St., Orlando, sustained damage during the policy period as a result of Hurricane Irma. The Beaches say they notified Florida Specialty of the loss but have yet to receive payments.

The plaintiffs allege Florida Specialty Insurance has failed to fully pay all of the plaintiffs’ losses as required by the insurance policy.

The Beaches seek trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, court costs and attorney fees. They are represented by attorney Gina Kimmel of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
