ORLANDO — A patient is suing Orange County health care practitioners, alleging negligence and vicarious liability.

Esteban Fuentes filed a complaint Aug. 20 in Orange County Circuit Court against against Central Florida Pulmonary Group PA, Erik Chieh Luh, Dr. Nguyen-Steve Dang Vu Nephrology Associates of Central Florida PA and Dr. Florin Gadalean, alleging they breached the professional standard of medical care and treatment.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 22, 2016, Fuentes came to the emergency room of Florida Hospital, complaining of flank pain, weakness and fatigue, due to a kidney stone. The suit says Fuentes suffered catastrophic and permanent injuries, including the loss of his extremities, lost wages, disability, impairment, mental anguish, inconvenience, loss of enjoyment of life and medical expenses, as a result of the defendants' negligence in the diagnosis, care and treatment of the plaintiff.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to follow the standard of care for treating sepsis, failed to provide timely intravenous fluid resuscitation and failed to properly monitor the patient and adjust his treatment based on his clinical condition.

Fuentes seeks trial by jury and compensatory damages of more than $15,000. He is represented by attorney Pamela A. Padilla of Martinez Manglardi PA in Kissimmee.
