ORLANDO — An Orange County man is suing business owners or an Orlando Kwik Stop, alleging failure to protect patrons.
Sean F. Bogle, as personal representative of the estate of Jeffrey Webb, deceased filed a complaint Aug. 20 in Orange County Circuit Court against Kwik Stop, Top North, Inc. and Orlando Plaza Investment Group LLC, alleging wrongful death because the defendants failed to to protect invitees and patrons from being shot while on its premises.
According to the complaint, on Dec. 11, 2016, Jeffrey Webb was an invitee lawfully on defendants' premises of a Kwik Stop store, 5100 North Lane, Orlando, when he was suddenly and unexpectedly shot in the store's parking lot by an unknown person.
As a result, Webb sustained serious and permanent injuries that, ultimately, led to his death. Bogle alleges Webb's death left Tonya Webb a widow..
The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to implement adequate security policies, security measures, and security procedures necessary to protect patrons on the premises of the Kwik Stop.
Bogle seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus costs, and all other just and appropriate relief. He is represented by attorneys Jason P. Herman and George H. Anderson III of Dan Newlin & Partners in Orlando.
