Vehicle crash victim alleges she is due insurance benefits

CLEARWATER — A Hillsborough County woman is suing State Farm, alleging breach of an insurance contract..

Jennifer Mack-McLean filed a complaint Aug. 16 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, failure to provide uninsured and under-insured motorist coverage.

According to the complaint, on March 1, 2017, Mack-McLean was operating her motor vehicle on state Road 584 in Oldsmar when she was struck by a 2006 Chevrolet truck driven by Albert Orellana, an uninsured motorist. 

Mack-McLean says she timely filed for uninsured and under-insured motorist coverage from State Farm but hasfailed to receive coverage despite having a full force and effect insurance policy at the time of the collision. 

The plaintiff alleges State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance has failed and refuses to provide insurance coverage under uninsured and under-insured motorist coverage.

Mac-McLean seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and all other just relief. She is represented by attorneys Paul Puzzanghera and Christoper Hamblen of Puzzanghera Law Offices in Clearwater.
