CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County man is suing a Seminole bowling alley, alleging negligence in keeping the business safe for customers.

Stephen Clausen filed a complaint Aug. 16 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Seminole Lanes Inc., doing business as Seminole Lanes, alleging the bowling alley failed to use reasonable care in maintaining the premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 9, 2016, Stephen Clausen was a paying customer at Seminole Lanes on Park Boulevard, Seminole. The suit says Clausen fell due to a dangerous condition of the alley that was under construction.

Clausen says the bowling alley was undergoing construction in certain areas that remained open to patrons with no signage to warn of the dangerous condition. As a result, Clausen says, he sustained physical injuries, pain and expense of hospitalization, medical and nursing care.

The plaintiff alleges Seminole Lanes failed to warn of latent or concealed perils that should have been known, failed to inspect the premises to ensure conditions were safe and failed to correct defects or dangers on the property.

Clausen seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, and all other just and proper relief. He is represented by attorneys Anthony D. Martino and Jessica N. Cochran of Clark Martino PA in Tampa.
