ORLANDO — A customer is suing Wal-Mart, alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Nilda Berrios filed a complaint Aug. 9 in Orange County Circuit Court against Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Wal-Mart Stores East LP, alleging failure to maintain its retail store premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 3, 2016, Berrios entered the Wal-Mart at 3838 S. Semoran Blvd., Orlando, to purchase various items. The suit says Berrios slipped and fell, sustaining serious and permanent injuries to her knees, back, legs and other parts of the body.

The plaintiff alleges Wal-Mart Stores and Wal-Mart Stores East failed to give adequate warning of the dangerous and hazardous condition of the floor.

Berrios seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, court costs and attorney fees. She is represented by attorney Charles Parker Jr. of Mapp & Parker PA in Orlando.
