Orlando property owners accuse home builder of shoddy work

Lawsuits

ORLANDO — Orlando property owners are suing a local home builder, alleging breach of contract.

Arturo Gamio and Patricia Gamio filed a complaint Aug. 1 in Orange County Circuit Cour against KB Home Orlando LLC, alleging failure to comply with the requirements of the Florida Building Code.

According to the complaint, as a result of KB Home Orlando's defective work, the Gamios home at 11766 Chateaubriand Ave., Orlando, has been damaged, substantially reducing its value and/or requiring significant repairs and renovations. The defects allegedly include improperly installing the stucco system.

The plaintiffs allege KB Home Orlando failed to construct the Gamios' home in accordance with certain plans and specifications.

The Gamios seek trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, court costs, attorney fees and all other just and appropriate relief. They are represented by attorney Joshua E. Burnett of Burnett Law PA in Tampa.
