CLEARWATER — A Oakland Park man is suing a St. Petersburg theater, alleging negligence in keeping its floor safe for customers.

Tyler Reid filed a complaint July 16 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against State Theatre Central, LLC, alleging violation of Florida law.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 13, 2016, Reid was at State Theater, 687 Central Ave., St. Petersburg, for a concert. The suit says as Reid left the concert, he suddenly slipped on water that was on the floor and fell to the ground.

As a result, Reid says he sustained physical injuries, suffered mental pain and incurred medical and hospital bills.

The plaintiff alleges State Theatre Central failed to warn guests of a dangerous condition that existed for a sufficient length of time on the property, failed to follow an inspection policy and failed to correct a dangerous condition that occurred with regularity and was foreseeable.

Reid seeks trial by jury, damages exceeding $15,000, plus court costs. He is represented by attorney Jonathan I. Rothstein of Law Office of Rotstein & Shiffman, LLP in Daytona Beach.
