CLEARWATER — Two St. Pete Beach property owners are suing a plumbing service company, alleging negligence.

Lydia Runkel and Kimberly Henson filed a complaint July 16 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Professional Plumbing Solutions Inc., alleging failure to properly and sufficiently oversee and monitor the repair process to ensure the repairs were being properly performed.

According to the complaint, on May 4, 2017, Runkel and Henson retained the services of defendants to repair the hot water heater at their residence, 1402 Pass A Grille Way, St. Pete Beach, and to investigate a leak in an upstairs shower and to install an outdoor shower.

However, Runkel and Henson say the work was not properly done. They allege  the pipes came loose due to the plumber failing to glue the pipes together, and water flooded the basement.

Also, the suit says, Professional Plumbing did not return to the property that night but returned later without telling the plaintiffs and proceeded to fix the leak that occurred in the basement.

The plaintiffs allege Professional Plumbing Solutions deviated from and failed to exercise the proper professional standard of care that should have been used in the oversight and monitoring of the repair process.

Runkel and Henson seek trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, exclusive of interest, attorney fees and costs, and all other just and proper relief. They are represented by attorney Vanessa Ross of Stockham Law Group PA in Sarasota.
