CLEARWATER — A St, Petersburg woman is suing a motorist, alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.
Latoya Williams filed a complaint July 11 in Pinellas Circuit Court against William D. Martin, alleging he failed to operate his vehicle in a careful manner.
According to the complaint, on Oct. 28, 2017, Williams was a passenger in a car on Central Avenue near 22nd Street in downtown St. Petersburg. The suit says Williams was injured when Martin abruptly backed out of a parking space and struck the passenger side of the vehicle near where Williams was sitting.
Williams says she suffered serious and permanent injuries that required surgery in excess of $150,000. The plaintiff alleges Martin negligently and carelessly backed out of a parking space without maintaining proper lookout.
Williams seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, costs, interest and all other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorneys Kennan G. Dandar and Timothy M. Dandar of Dandar & Dandar PA in Tampa.
