CLEARWATER — A St. Petersburg woman is suing an apartment complex owner, alleging negligence led to injuries to the plaintiff.

Patricia Waters filed a complaint July 11 in Pinellas Circuit Court against South St. Pete I LLC, alleging the apartment complex operator failed to maintain the parking lot in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, on June 7, 2015, Waters was at the defendant's Avesta Wildwood Apartments, 2400 15th Avenue S., St. Petersburg when she tripped and fell over a long and uncovered piece of rebar in the parking lot.

She says she sustained bodily injuries, resulting in great physical pain and suffering, disability, inconvenience, diminution of earnings and medical and related expenses. The plaintiff alleges South St. Pete I negligently allowed the long and uncovered piece of rebar sticking from a parking bumper to remain in the parking lot in a state of disrepair.

Waters seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus costs and all other just relief. She is represented by attorneys Thomas D. Roebig Jr., Nicholas S. Costantino, Shaun M. Cummings, Luca G. Esposito, Chase P. Florin and Chad K. Florin of Florin Roebig PA in Palm Harbor.
