CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County man is suing Wal-Mart, alleging negligence caused him injuries.
Eddunio J. Corraliza filed a complaint July 11 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Wal-Mart Stores East LP, alleging failure to follow applicable safety guidelines and regulations.
According to the complaint, on Nov. 22, 2017, Corraliza was at the Wal-Mart, 1803 N. Highland Ave., Clearwater. The suit says Corraliza slipped and fell because of a foreign or liquid substance that was left on the floor of the Wal-Mart for a sufficient amount of time.
The suit says the fall caused him to sustain severe and permanent injuries, physical and mental pain and suffering, grief, anguish, inability to lead a normal life, loss of earnings, permanent aggravation of a pre-existing condition and hospital and medical bills.
The plaintiff alleges Wal-Mart Stores East failed to warn plaintiff of the dangerous condition that existed at that time, failed to inspect and maintain the floor of the Wal-Mart in a reasonably safe condition, and failed to correct the hazardous condition.
Corraliza seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, costs and interest from the defendant, plus all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorney Laurette A. Balinsky of Rubenstein Law PA in Orlando.
