CLEARWATER — A couple is suing the owners of a truck that hit their vehicle, alleging negligence.

William J. Sloan and Michael Sloan filed a complaint July 10 in the Pinellas Circuit Court against Rob Swann and Anjana Swann alleging that the defendants failed to operate and manage their vehicle with the reasonable degree of care, causing injuries to others.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 26, 2014, William Sloan's Chevrolet Impala was struck by Rob Swann's Ford 150 truck on Interstate 275 Southbound and 54th Avenue North in St.Petersburg, causing serious and permanent injuries, mental anguish, medical expenses, and loss or diminution of earnings or earning capacity.

The plaintiffs hold the Swanns responsible because Rob Swann allegedly negligently and carelessly operated, maintained or controlled the truck to cause a collision with another vehicle.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury; and seek a judgment for a sum within the jurisdictional limits of the court, to wit more than $15,000, plus costs and interest on all liquidated damages. They are represented by Bryan D. Caulfield of Perenich, Caulfield, Avril & Notes, PA in Clearwater.
