CLEARWATER — A customer is suing Aldi, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Carrie McMillan filed a complaint July 6 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Aldi (Florida), LLC, alleging the defendant was negligent in failing to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 31, 2015, McMillan was a patron at Aldi's in Pinellas Park. She says she slipped and fell due to a soda that had accumulated on the floor, constituting an unreasonable slipping hazard.

McMillan says she sustained bodily injury, pain, disability, mental anguish and medical expenses. The plaintiff alleges Aldi (Florida) failed to maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition and failed to warn McMillan of the dangerous condition.

McMillan seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, court costs and prejudgment interest. She is represented by attorney Brad Salter of Salter, Healy, LLC in St. Petersburg.
