CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County woman is suing Holiday Inn, alleging negligence and failure to warn led to the plaintiff sustaining a fall.

Angela Walden filed a complaint July 5 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Holiday Inn Express & Suites, alleging failure to exercise reasonable care to ensure the hotel's premises were in a reasonably safe and suitable condition.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 12,  Walden was lawfully at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in St. Petersburg. The suit says Walden slipped and fell on water, liquid and/or foreign substance, sustaining injuries. As a result, Walden says she experienced severe pain and had to spend large sums of money for the care and treatment she needed.

The plaintiff alleges Holiday Inn Express & Suites failed to correct the dangerous condition and provide warning signs surrounding the area.

Walden seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus costs of suit. She is represented by attorney Joseph W. Chambers of Chamers Law Group PA in St. Petersburg.
