CLEARWATER — Two Palm Harbor property owners are suing a liability insurer, alleging breach of an insurance contract.

Vincent Kiesel and Christine Kiesel filed a complaint July 5 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Fednat Insurance, formerly known as Federated National Insurance Company, alleging failure to pay for hurricane damage.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 10, 2017, the plaintiffs' insured property at 600 Soudview Drive Palm Harbor, suffered severe damaged from Hurricane Irma. The plaintiffs say they timely reported and made a claim for the loss, which was covered under the Fednat policy.

The plaintiffs allege Fednat Insurance has failed to timely and fully provide sufficient funds for the repair and replacement the damage to the Kiesels' property.

The Kiesels seek trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, attorney fees, costs and all other necessary relief. They are represented by attorneys Douglas Entrance and Nicholas A. DeMahy of Demahy Labrador Drake Victor Rojas & Cabeza in Coral Gables.
