Cyclist alleges Largo woman negligently pulled into bike lane and caused collision

CLEARWATER – A Redington Shores resident alleges a Largo woman negligently pulled into a bike lane and caused her to collide with her vehicle.

Cynthia Ryan filed a complaint on June 15 in the 6th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Pinellas County against Mary Karlins alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 23, 2017, she was riding her bicycle in the bike lane on Gulf Boulevard in Pinellas County when Karlins pulled off the main road and into the bike path, causing Ryan to collide with her. The plaintiff alleges she suffered injuries, including but not limited to LeFort Type II fracture, nasal fracture, nasal septum fracture and broken teeth as a result.

The plaintiff holds Karlins responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently operated her vehicle.

The plaintiff seeks all damages and legal fees, costs and expenses allowed by law, and such other proper relief. She is represented by Joseph F. Diaco Jr. of Diaco Law in Tampa.
