ORLANDO — An Orlando homeowner is suing an insurer, alleging breach of an insurance contract.
Christopher Galuski filed a complaint June 20 in Orange County Circuit Court against Florida Specialty Insurance Company, alleging failure to cover hurricane damage.
According to the complaint, on Sept. 10, 2017, while the policy was in full force and effect, Galuski's property at 5621 Brookline Drive, Orlando, sustained a covered loss as a result of wind, wind-driven rain, and/or hail from Hurricane Irma. However, the the suit says, Florida Specialty has refused to provide coverage for loss or damage to the property.
The plaintiff alleges Florida Specialty Insurance has failed to adequately indemnify Galuski for the loss, failed to tender an appropriate amount to repair the property, and obligated the plaintiff to retain attorneys for legal action.
Galuski seeks trial by jury, more than $15,000 in damages, plus interest, court costs and attorney fees. He is represented by attorneys Louis A. Gonzalez and Zaf Glenn Goss of Vargas Gonzalez Hevia Baldwin LLP in Winter Park.
