CLEARWATER — A consumer is suing a St. Petersburg Save-A-Lot store, alleging negligence caused her to step on a grape and suffer injuries.
Krystal Collins filed a complaint June 15 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Moran Foods LLC, doing business as Save-A-Lot, alleging the property owner failed to maintain its premises in a safe condition.
According to the complaint, on Feb. 20, 2017, Collins was shopping at the Save-A-Lot store, 701 Ninth St. N, St. Petersburg, when she stepped on grape and fell. Collins says she sustained bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, incurred medical expenses, and aggravated a previous existing condition. The suit says her injuries resulted from Save-A-Lot employees' negligence in allowing discarded food to remain on the floor.
The plaintiff alleges Save-A-Lot failed to warn invitees of the dangerous condition of its premises, and failed to adequately maintain and inspect the property.
Collins seeks trial by jury and damages in excess of $15,000. She is represented by attorney Tavis Souder of Schwed, Adams & McGinIey PA in Palm Beach Gardens.
