ORLANDO — An Orlando couple is suing an insurer, alleging breach of an insurance contract.

Robert and Daisy Dirisio filed a complaint June 12 in Orange County Circuit Court against American Integrity Insurance Company of Florida, alleging failure to pay for water damage.

According to the complaint, on June 17, 2017, the Dirisios' property at 2493 Island Club Way, Orlando, sustained a covered loss from a water event that required replacement of roofing, plus construction services.

However, the suit says, despite the plaintiffs' efforts to comply with all post-loss obligations, American Integrity has refused to provide coverage for their loss.

The plaintiffs allege American Integrity Insurance has failed or refuses to pay all of plaintiffs' bills and estimates, and required the Dirisios to retain the services of attorneys in bringing legal action.

The Dirisios seek trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000 for all unpaid bills with interest, court costs, attorney fees and all other remedies the court sees fit to grant. They are represented by attorney Jennifer El Mekkaoui of Cohen Law Group in Maitland.
