ORLANDO — A business guest is suing a Rotary club, alleging breach of duty and negligence.

Laquisha Crawford filed a complaint June 11 in Orange County Circuit Court against West Orlando Rotary Club Inc., alleging failure to maintain its premises, including the floors, reasonably safe for use by its invitees.

According to the complaint, on July 1, 2017, Crawford was at the West Orlando Rotary Club 475 S. Kirkman Road, Orlando. The suit says Crawford slipped and fell forcefully to the ground due a transitory liquid on the floor. Crawford says she sustained bodily injuries, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, scarring, mental anguish, medical and nursing expenses and loss of earnings.

The plaintiff alleges West Orlando Rotary Club failed to inspect the cleanliness of the floor and failed to warn invitees of any known hazards or hazardous conditions.

Crawford seeks trial by jury, judgment in excess of $15,000, plus interest and court costs. She is represented by attorney Logan J. Young of Dan Newlin & Partners in Orlando.
