ORLANDO — A beverage cart attendant is suing an Orlando golf club and a golfer, alleging negligence caused a serious eye injury.

Sasha Kurashige filed a complaint May 30 in Orange County Circuit Court against Integrity Golf Company LLC, Rio Pinar Country Club and Eric Pydynowski, alleging failure to follow applicable safety guidelines and regulations.

According to the complaint, Kurashige had worked as a beverage cart attendant at Rio Pinar Country Club for four years. The suit says on July 17, 2017, Kurashige was operating a beverage cart on the premises of the golf club when Pydynowski drove a golf ball directly to the side of the tee box and into the plaintiff's left eye.

The lawsuit says this caused traumatic injuries and rendered her left eye completely without any vision.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to give notice to those around Pydynowski that they might be endangered by his shot, failed to provide employees with a safe working environment, and failed to restrict golfers from playing the course after consuming excessive amounts of alcohol.

Kurashige seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, litigation costs and all other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Carrie Mendrick Roane of Fasig / Brooks in Tallahassee.
