Heritage Property & Casualty Insurance alleged to have refused to pay Hurricane Irma damages

CLEARWATER – The owner of a St. Petersburg property alleges his insurer refused to pay for all of his losses related to Hurricane Irma.

Dwight Latimore filed a complaint on May 29 in the 6th Judicial Circuit of Florida - Pinellas County against Heritage Property & Casualty Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 10, 2017, his dwelling at 1432 62nd Ave., St. Petersburg suffered a covered loss due to Hurricane Irma while the insurance policy with the defendant was in full force and effect.

The plaintiff holds Heritage Property & Casualty Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly refused to pay the full amount of damages that are due and owing under the insurance policy.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of attorney's fees, court costs, interest and any other relief the court may deem just and appropriate. He is represented by Seth Kerr of Morgan & Morgan, Tampa, PA in Tampa.
