CLEARWATER — A natural guardian is suing Surgical Associates of West Florida PA, a medical company, citing alleged negligence.
Mylanna Skinner filed a complaint on May 29, in the Pinellas County Circuit Court against Surgical Associates of West Florida PA alleging that the medical company failed to provide a safe environment for its business invitees.
According to the complaint, Skinner alleges that on Aug. 22, 2017, her minor child was on the premises with her when he suffered bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement and mental anguish as a result of the negligence of the defendant in allowing a defective and dangerous table to remain on its premises.
The plaintiff holds Surgical Associates of West Florida PA responsible because it allegedly failed to warn Skinner of the known dangerous condition and failed to properly inspect and maintain its premises.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for damages in excess of $15,000 plus costs. She is represented by John L. Mulvihill of Corless Barfield Trial Group LLC in Tampa.
