ORLANDO — A Massachusetts tourist is suing Walt Disney, alleging a poorly maintained hotel sidewalk resulted in injuries.
Rita Cronis of Newton, Massachusetts, filed a complaint May 23 in Orange County Circuit Court against Walt Disney Parks and Resorts US Inc. alleging the defendant negligently failed to maintain and/or adequately maintain its premises in safe condition.
According to the complaint, on Nov. 7, 2015, Cronis was a guest in Disney's All-Star Movies Resort hotel in Lake Buena Vista. The suit says Cronis tripped and fell due to poorly maintained/uneven sidewalk.
She says the fall caused bodily injuries, pain, suffering, disability, disfigurement, permanent and significant scarring, mental anguish, expense of hospitalization, medical and nursing care and treatment, loss or earning and aggravation of previously existing condition.
The plaintiff alleges Walt Disney Parks and Resorts US, failed to exercise reasonable care in keeping its premises safe from hazardous conditions for the safety of its guests and visitors.
Cronis seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus interest and court costs, attorney fees, and all other relief the court deems just and proper. She is represented by attorney Alicia M. Smith of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
