Visitor alleges St. Petersrburg property owner's negligence caused injuries

CLEARWATER — A St. Petersburg woman is suing a local property owner, alleging negligence led to injuries.

Marian Pruyne filed a complaint May 22 in Pinellas Circuit Court against PFC Park Holdings LLC, doing business as Summit Communities of Jacksonville, alleging failure to use due care to maintain its premises in a safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 14, 2017, Pruyne was at Summit Communities in St. Petersburg when she slipped and fell as a result of the defendant's' negligence in allowing a hazardous substance to remain on the floor of the property.

The suit says Pruyne sustained injury in and about her body and extremities, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, scarring, mental anguish, medical expenses, loss of earnings and aggravation of pre-existing conditions. 

The plaintiff alleges Summit Communities of Jacksonville failed to warn and protect patrons from known dangers, and failed to adequately maintain a safe premises for its patrons.

Pruyne seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000 and all further relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Frank DiCosola of Pinellas Park.
