ORLANDO — A Winter Park resident is suing another driver, alleging negligence.
Miguel Gil filed a complaint May 15 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Galileu Torres alleging that the defendant failed to exercise reasonable care in the operation and maintenance of a motor vehicle.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 21, 2016, he was driving on Semoran Boulevard near the intersection of Colonial Drive in Orlando, when Torres' vehicle collided with his, resulting in bodily injuries, pain, disability, mental anguish, medical expenses and damages to property.
The plaintiff holds Torres responsible because the defendant allegedly failed his duty to exercise reasonable care in the maintenance and operation of a motor vehicle, and to ensure the vehicle was operated in a reasonably careful and prudent manner in respect to other motorists.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages exceeding $15,000, exclusive of interest, costs, attorneys' fees, and such other and further relief as the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by James G. Vicarious and Shannon P. Liatsos of Vickaryous Law Firm in Lake Mary.
