ORLANDO — A Florida resident is suing Security First Insurance Company d/b/a Security First Florida, an insurance carrier, citing alleged breach of contract.
Candido Sabio filed a complaint on May 9 in the Orange Circuit Court against Security First Insurance Company d/b/a Security First Florida alleging that the insurance carrier breached its duty of good faith and fair dealing.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 11, 2017, while his property's insurance was in full force and effect, it sustained a covered loss as a result of a hurricane. Despite efforts of plaintiff to furnished timely notice of covered loss, the defendant refused to make payment for the full amount of his covered loss under the policy.
The plaintiff holds Security First Insurance Company d/b/a Security First Florida responsible because the defendant allegedly obligated plaintiff to retain and pay for the services of a legal counsel to represent and protect his interest, and refused to pay the full amount of plaintiff's insurance claim.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for all losses with interest on any overdue payments, attorney's fees and costs. He is represented by Daniel Gutierrez PA of Daniel Gutierrez in Orlando.
