ORLANDO — A liquor store customer is suing Orlando business operators, alleging negligence led to the plaintiff suffering knife wounds.
Jerald Anderson filed a complaint May 9 in Orange County Circuit Court against Blake Carlton Properties, doing business as Liquor Master, Sarran LLC et al., alleging failure to follow applicable safety guidelines and regulations.
According to the complaint, on April 10, 2015, Anderson was at Liquor Master, 505 S. Ivey Lane, Orlando. The suit says an individual used a knife to cut across both sides of Anderson's face, causing severe permanent injuries, pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, aggravation of a pre-existing condition, mental anguish, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, expenses of hospitalization and treatment, and loss of earnings.
The suit says the attack was the result of the defendants' negligence in failing taking adequate security measures to prevent criminal incidents on their property.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to hire and retain appropriately trained security guards in sufficient numbers, and failed to properly evaluate and address criminal activity within and around their premises.
Anderson seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus costs, and all further relief the court deems proper. He is represented by attorney Tyrone A. King of King & Markman PA in Orlando.
