CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County woman is suing a St. Petersburg property owner, alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.
Violet Kimble filed a complaint May 7 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Karen Bailey Reed, alleging failure to maintain her property in a safe condition.
According to the complaint, on May 27, 2017, Kimble was walking toward Bailey's property's front door, 4212 57th Ave. N., St. Petersburg. The suit says Kimble stepped on a cement step that was propped up on a tree root, making her lose her balance and suffer a serious fall. Kimble says she sustained injuries, pain and suffering, the inability to lead a normal life and loss of earnings.
The plaintiff alleges Reed failed to adequately warn Kimble of the dangerous condition that existed on its premises, failed to adequately maintain and inspect the area, and failed to place a sign at eye level to indicate defective steps.
Kimble seeks trial by jury damages of more than $15,000, plus costs of action and prejudgment interest on liquidated damages. She is represented by attorney Tony Griffith of Tanney, Griffith & Bresler PA in Clearwater.
