CLEARWATER — An Orange County resident is suing a motorist, alleging negligence.

Clifton Kenan filed a complaint on May 2 in the Pinellas Circuit Court against Donald Porter, alleging that the motorist failed to exercise standard care and skill in the operation of a vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 27, 2017 he suffered bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of the enjoyment of life, medical expenses, aggravation of a pre-existing condition, and loss of earnings, as a result of the negligence of the defendant in the maintenance, operation and control of his truck so as to collide with the vehicle driven by plaintiff on South Myrtle Avenue and Drew Street in Clearwater.

The plaintiff holds Porter responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to safely operate a vehicle so as not to cause damage, and failed to pay attention to traffic and keep a proper lookout for other vehicles.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks a judgment against the defendant for damages, together with costs, pre-and post-judgment interest, and such other relief to which plaintiff is entitled. He is represented by Paul Puzzanghera and Christopher L. Hamblen of Puzzanghera Law Offices in Clearwater.
