ORLANDO – A Pinellas County man alleges he was wrongfully terminated by a timeshare sales company in Orange County while out on medical leave.

James Schreiber filed a complaint on April 26 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Hilton Grand Vacations Club LLC alleging Family and Medical Leave Act interference and retaliation.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff began working for the defendant in October 2016 and submitted paperwork for FMLA leave in November 2017 to care for a medical condition. He alleges he was terminated in January with an effective date of Dec. 21, 2017, for absenteeism.

The plaintiff holds Hilton Grand Vacations Club LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly interfered with his rights under the FMLA.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant; injunction; compensation for lost wages, benefits and other remuneration; reinstatement; front pay; liquidated damages; interest; costs; attorney's fees; and further relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Christopher J. Saba of Wenzel Fenton Cabassa PA in Tampa.
