Customer alleges St. Petersburg eatery/music venue failed to keep premises safe

CLEARWATER — A customer is suing owners of a St. Petersburg restaurant and music venue, alleging negligence led to serious injuries for the plaintiff.

Karen Campbell filed a complaint April 26 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Roger S. Hendricks, Theresa A. Hendricks and 3 Wize Men Inc., doing business as  Dead Bob's, alleging failure to maintain its premises in a safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 10, 2015, Campbell went to Dead Bob's, 6716 Central Ave. N. St. Petersburg, to have dinner and listen to music. The suit says Campbell tripped and fell over a concrete wheel stop in the parking lot. As a result of defendants’ negligence and lack of due care, Campbell says she suffered bodily injuries, pain, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish and pain, loss of earnings, aggravation of pre-existing condition and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to take necessary actions to prevent her fall and injury, failed to keep the premises in a safe condition, and failed to give adequate warnings to its guests about the known dangers.

Campbell seeks trial by jury, damages exceeding $15,000, plus costs of action. She is represented by attorney Debra J. Gell of Ciarciaglino, Gell & Fiorentino PA in St. Petersburg.
