Orange County property owners accuse law firm of legal malpractice

ORLANDO — Orange County property owners are suing an Orlando law firm, alleging legal malpractice, breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty.

Prosperity Place Properties LLC and Jennifer Smith filed a complaint April 19 in Orange County Circuit Court against Meyer, Eichelberger & Russo PA,  alleging failure to provide services that met professional standards of quality.

According to the complaint, Prosperity Place Properties and Smith have suffered damages, including being charged for services of no value, loss of properties and have incurred significant judgment as a result of the the defendant's negligence and malpractice in defending the lawsuit against the plaintiffs in a competent manner. 

The plaintiffs allege Meyer, Eichelberger & Russo failed to properly communicate with the plaintiffs about the case, failed to allow the plaintiffs to see the documents before being filed, failed to put evidence in the case for a defense, and and charged the plaintiffs for an appeal to correct its owns basic trial errors.

Prosperity Place Properties LLC and Smith seek trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, including punitive damages, interest, costs, fees and all further relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorney Jennifer Smith of The Law Office of Jennifer Smith in Windermere.
