ORLANDO — A family member is suing Orlando property owners, alleging wrongful death and negligence.

Mylaine Nicolas, as personal representative for the estate of Gino Edny Nicolas, deceased, filed a complaint April 16 in Orange County Circuit Court against The Landings at Carver Park LLP, Orlando Housing Authority Properties, et al., alleging failure to provide a safe environment for its guests.

According to the complaint, on April 16, 2016, Gino Edny Nicolas died as a result of injuries he sustained in a shooting incident while he was in the vicinity of The Landings at Carver Park, 1104 Conley St., Orlando. The suit says Mylaine Nicolas and other survivors have lost the support, services and net accumulation of the decedent.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide adequate security for the premises, failed to warn invitees utilizing the premises of the risk of injury and failed to provide adequate lighting and camera surveillance for the premises.

Mylaine Nicolas seeks trial by jury, damages that exceed $15,000 and all further relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorneys Walter L. Rogers and J. Rhiannon Arnold-Rogers of The Arnold Law Group PA in Orlando.
