Pinellas Park hotel guest alleges negligence in fall near pool deck

CLEARWATER — An invited guest is suing property owners and operators of a Pinellas Park hotel, alleging negligence led to the plaintiff suffering injuries in a fall.

Novella Ann Pfeiffer filed a complaint April 10 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Park Royale MHP LLC; Sun Communities Inc., Green Courte Partners LLC and American Land Lease Inc., alleging the defendants failed to be responsible for the maintenance of the area.

According to the complaint, on June 11, 2014, Pfeiffer was guest at Park Royale in Pinellas Park. The suit says she suddenly fell due to an unforeseen step while walking along the pool deck toward the swimming pool.

Pfieffer says she sustained bodily injuries that resulted in pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, expense of hospitalization, medical and nursing care and treatment.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to properly maintain the area where she fell by correcting a known dangerous condition and failed to provide a safe environment for guests.

Pfieffer seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, costs, interest and all other relief the court deems just and proper. She is represented by attorney Jeffrey P. Diamond of Burnetti PA in Tampa.
