CLEARWATER — A visitor is suing a St. Petersburg day care center, alleging negligence in allowing a dangerous condition to remain on the premises.

Kendra Coleman filed a complaint April 9 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Luci-Port-Turlynk Bartlew, Inc. doing business as Kidz World, alleging failure to to keep its premises in a safe condition for the benefit of all invitees.

According to the complaint,on Jan. 18, 2017, Coleman was on the Kidz World property in St. Petersburg. The suit says Coleman fell to the floor because of a transitory foreign substance that remained in the classroom during the defendant's normal business hours.

As a result, Coleman says she sustained physical injuries, hospitalization and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Kidz World failed to exercise reasonable care in the maintenance, inspection, repair, warning or mode of operation of the preschool and day care center, which caused injury to an individual.

Coleman seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus costs of this action. She is represented by attorneys Rick G. Bannon and G. Tyler Bannon of Law Offices of Rick H. Bannon PA in St. Petersburg.
