Insurance 08

ORLANDO — An Orlando property owner is suing an insurance company, alleging breach of contract.

Alron Construction LLL and/or John Levell filed a complaint March 29 in Orange County Circuit Court against Florida Family Insurance Company, alleging failure to provide insurance coverage for hail damage.

According to the complaint, on May 1, 2013, Levell's property at 8509 Citron Court, Orlando, suffered damage due to hail storm. The suit says Levell sought reimbursement for expenses from the defendant.

The lawsuit alleges Levell performed all conditions precedent to entitle him to recover under the policy but Florida Family has refused to provide payment for all covered losses.

The plaintiff alleges Florida Family Insurance has failed to pay the statutory interest, penalties and the statutory attorney fees required by law and has unreasonably delayed acceptance of all coverage/damages owed under the policy for all sums due under terms and conditions of the insurance policy and continues to deny/delay the insured's claim.

Alron Construction and/or Levell seek trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, interest on any overdue payments, attorney fees and costs. He is represented by attorney Katie S. Monroe of Hale, Hale & Jacobson, PA in Orlando.
