FORT LAUDERDALE — A Hollywood property owner is suing Federated National Insurance Company, alleging breach of contract.

Joanne Gregor filed a complaint March 21 in Broward Circuit Court against Federated National Insurance Company, alleging the insurer failed to cover storm damages.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 18, 2017, Gregor suffered covered losses and damages to her property's roofing at 6590 Arthur St., Hollywood caused by a storm. However, the suit says,Federated National has refused to provide the necessary reimbursement for covered losses despite being furnished with a timely notice of the loss.

The plaintiff alleges Federated National Insurance obligated Gregor to replace the destroyed portions of her property, failed to make full payment, and failed to timely evaluate and pay the benefits owed the plaintiff.

Gregor seeks trial by jury, actual damages of at least $15,000, interest, attorney fees, costs, and all further just and fit relief. She is represented by attorney Matthew Gelber of Gold Litigation PA in Hallandale Beach.
