CLEARWATER — A passenger is suing a motorist, alleging negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.
Dawn Maroldi filed a complaint March 27 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Lilian Naranjo and Juan Gilbert Naranjo, alleging failure to exercise standard care and skill in the operation of a vehicle.
According to the complaint, on April 17, 2017, Maroldi was a passenger in a vehicle that was run into by a 2012 Volvo SUV driven by Lilian Naranjo and with the consent/permission of Juan Gilbert Naranjo. Maroldi says she sustained bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, impairment, disability, inconvenience, loss of enjoyment of life, mental anguish, loss of earnings, and incurred medical expenses.
The plaintiff alleges Lilian Naranjo failed to adequately maintain and operate a motor vehicle so as not to cause harm, and Juan Gilbert Naranjo breached duty of care as owner by allowing the motor vehicle to be used for negligent operation.
Maroldi seeks trial by jury, damages exceeding $15,000, plus court costs, and all other just relief. She is represented by attorney Katherine Neal of Carey Leisure & Neal in Clearwater.
