CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County woman is suing a St. Petersburg school, alleging negligence in keeping the premises safe to invitees.

Pauline Kendrick, individually and as guardian of Christopher Adkins, a minor, filed a complaint March 27 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Children's Educational Services, Inc. doing business as The Broach School, and Educational Partnership alleging the defendants failed to properly maintain and supervise its premises.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 22, 2017, Kendrick she was lawfully at defendants' Broach School in St. Petersburg when she suffered serious injuries as she was utilizing the school's ' pathway. As a result, Kendrick says she sustained injuries that left her handicapped and impaired, causing Adkins to lose substantial support and services of a guardian.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants allowed a dangerous condition to exist on the pathway and failed to provide warning to invitees that such as condition existed.

Kendrick seeks trial by jury, damages that exceed $15,000 plus costs of action. She is represented by attorney Stephen G. Mortimer of Rahdert & Mortimer, PLLC in St. Petersburg.
